Kitethrills Mauritius Trip 2010
The 2010 trip to Mauritius was a huge success! With a group of 14 people we headed over in the last two weeks of June for an epic two weeks of riding waves and progressing on the flat lagoon. The anticipation and expectations were high!
Mauritius delivered with amazing conditions all the way. We kited 12 out of 14 days, did some canyoning, swimming and relaxing in the meantime and had some amazing parties afterwards. The prefect conditions pushed all kiters to new levels. Nobody left Mauritius without learning some new moves!
The amazing villa we stayed in offered more than enough space for group dining, evening slideshows and parties. There is really only one word to express it all: lots and lots of FUN!
Stephan Kleinlein, our professional photographer on the trip, captured all the action on camera and put it together in a great website. So for more info and photos/ movies check:

Kitethrills Mauritius Trip 2011
Because of its success Kitethrills will be running the trip to Mauritius again in June/ July 2011. Exact dates will be available in September when the flight prices and flight dates are released. Mauritius get over 14 knots 80% of days in June/ July. The average temperature is 16-30 degrees and the water is 25 degrees. The southeast trade winds are cool and more dense than our QLD winds making for more power.
The lagoon is enormous with different areas for shallow safe waters for beginners and also great spots for more advanced riders as well. The outer reef has awesome wave options notably: One Eye (fast hollow left) and Manawa (full slower left). There is also a fantastic wave for first timers to practise changing direction, turning on the face and rolling rail to rail. Photo and videos will be taken from all angles to cover the action, as well as the normal travel shots of the journey.

This trip will suit all levels of riders for flat water or in the waves. Advanced riders especially wave junkies will love it, intermediate riders will progress rapidly, beginners can take lessons through the local school (roughly $60/hr)
We don’t anticipate any major changes in price from this year, so about AUD $3700 total (incl return flights, accommodation, vehicles, boat support, photo/video capture and of course kitesurfing).
We will be staying at the same private villas at Le Morne, where the famous kitespot is. And we’ll also have twin share apartments right next door for couples and those who’d like more privacy.
There’s already a huge response and strong interests. We’re expecting it to book out fast so if you’re interested please send us an email info@kitethrills.com or ring us during shop hours on 07 5438 8118.
We will keep you informed on new developments and news on this webpage and via newsletters so sign up above if you haven’t already!
